The Listening Project

Who listens to what and to whom? And how often do we feel heard? The Listening Project explores the act of listening in this interactive art performance piece.

Listening via Visual Arts + Dance

At the Athenaeum,
Old Town Alexandra,
May 11 from 1 to 4 pm

Action Painting: Anne Willieme

Dancer: Kate Walker

The Listening Project is an interactive performance piece that explores what ALW Atelier calls multisensory listening.

The participating audience provides the oral discourse which is then translated into visual terms by the visual artist (Anne Willieme) and into movement by the dancer (Kate Walker).

The piece explores a multisensory-media translation from language to visual and movement-based expression. In addition, the work aims to provide the participating audience the healing-feeling of being deeply heard.

Listening in visual terms through paint in The Listening Project

Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a creative force. The friends who listen to us are the ones we move toward. When we are listened to, it creates us, makes us unfold and expand.
