Innovation/Education Design/Teaching

Founder and Director of ArtMed inSight (2008-Present)

  • ArtMed inSight explores the connections between art, medicine and science and has established itself as a leader in the art and medicine field. ArtMed inSight focuses on the development of art-based educational curricula and research with the goal of supporting medical practitioners in enhancing their capacity for observation, emotional intelligence, and creative thinking skills.

  • Creation of a proprietary perceptual-art methodology which serves to increase reflection, observation, and creative thinking skills. The method, which was the basis for classes taught at both NYU Grossman school of Medicine and Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons – Columbia University, was tested in research by both institutions, and marked positive results were found for the students who took the class (see publications as author).

  • Selected collaborations and teaching include the following institutions:

- Massachusetts General Hospital
- Boston Medical Center
- Columbia University Medical Center
- Cornell Weill Medical School
